Looking after your Jewellery

- Everyday cleaning :

Excluding emeralds and pearls , you can clean your jewellery yourself using lukewarm soapy water, and gently clean them with a small, very soft brush.

After cleaning the piece carefully rinse through with lukewarm water and dry them with a soft cloth.

The cleaning procedure for emeralds and pearls is extremely delicate, and I believe should only be entrusted to professional jewellers.

- Annual cleaning :

It is my recommendation that once a year you take your jewellery to be professionally cleaned : your jewellery will benefit from being checked, cleaned and revitalised.

- Storage :

Jewellery and the stones within the pieces can become scratched when they come into contact with each other. I recommend that you store them individually within their boxes, or dedicated section if using a jewellery box. I strongly advise clients against placing several pieces of jewellery together without protection.

- Storage of chains and bracelets :

Chains should be stored closed and laid flat in order to prevent the formation of knots.  In the case of snake chains because of their unusual semi - rigid form, this can make them susceptible to kinking.  To preserve the chain's original shape I recommend that the chain be stored hanging-up or carefully coiled to avoid it being squashed under heavier items.
